We come to Jesus just the way we are. However, our relationship with him depends on our willingness to submit to his Lordship of our lives. Basically, he's the boss or our relationship is incorrect. John the Baptist gave everything to follow Jesus. We will never regret doing the same.
You want a faith that goes deeper than the prosperity gospel that teaches that you will never suffer. In the middle of his suffering, Job testified that he had a living redeemer. The good news is that you do too!

Did you ever resist comforting someone because you did not know what to say? It is good to be cautious because our words have little power to ease suffering and often make it worse. Maybe we overestimate the importance of our words and underestimate the importance of our presence.
